Electrical buying group Sirius has announced it will host a charity auction at its 25th Anniversary Trade Show to raise funds for an oesophageal cancer charity.

Sirius Buying Group will hold the auction during the Gala Dinner at the Arena MK in Milton Keynes on Wednesday 16th September 2026. Approved Suppliers will donate products and experiences for Members to bid on, with all proceeds going directly to OCHRE, the Oesophageal Cancer Charity.

The support carries particular significance following the recent diagnosis of long-standing Sirius member John Wardman of Domestic Supplies in Mansfield, who was diagnosed with early-stage oesophageal cancer arising from Barrett's oesophagus and has recently undergone chemotherapy. Mr Wardman's decision to act on his symptoms rather than continue managing them with over-the-counter medication led directly to his early diagnosis.

OCHRE works to raise awareness of the symptoms of oesophageal cancer, support patients and their families, and fund research into earlier diagnosis and improved treatment.

Sirius and its network have raised well over £200,000 for good causes since the Group was founded in 2001.

Mark Veysey, Operations Director at Sirius Buying Group, said: "We're really looking forward to this year's auction. Every year our Approved Suppliers come forward with brilliant items, and every year our Members make sure those donations get the bids they deserve. With John's story front of mind for so many of us, we know our Members and Suppliers will be every bit as generous as they always are. It's set to be a special night at what is already a landmark Trade Show for us."

Sirius invites everyone to show their support ahead of the event via the Sirius and OCHRE JustGiving page.
